Accidental Coincidence is the two hundred and thirty-seventh Extra Ops and the fifty-fifth Rare Boss introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

At the battlefield, a girl named Phi looks around. Whip comes in and tells her that she'll get lost if she keeps looking, but Phi tells her that she's an AI and takes offense. Whip tells her to take it lightly and that they should finish the mission, going on ahead on her SV-001 unit to catch up with the Bullet Express and breaks in.

Inside, she is greeted by Rapid, who finds her cute but draws a gun on her as she is an enemy. Outside, Phi is unsure of what she's supposed to be doing, before MS-Alice contacts her and reminds her of the mission - to intercept runaway trains that are trying to damage Regular Army bases and innocent towns. Phi states that she will not participate, as she wants to find the Iron Fortress, but Alice has her do so, promising her a cake if she does and that they'll meet eventually, so Phi participates in it.

As Phi deals with the accompanying enemies, she is struck by several MV-280B MK IIs. Although she does not do anything at first, upon realizing that she doesn't want to get hurt, begins to fight the enemies.

Whip and Rapid continue fighting inside. Rapid tells her that her whip is ineffective in the train, and grazes her with a shot to the arm. The two then fire another shot at each other, but Phi fires a shield towards Whip and a cannonball at Rapid. Rapid expresses sadness that she can't accompany the train to the end, but because she finds both of them cute, extends an invitation to her train in their next encounter, before the two leap off the train.

Alice then has her units destroy the train; its explosive payload triggers a shockwave that terrifies Whip. Whip thanks Phi for the timely rescue, but is upset that she deviated from the plan and slightly kicks her. Phi does not like it, but Whip apologizes and promises to polish her up when they return. Phi is upset that she didn't find the Iron Fortress, prompting Whip to ask why she's so obsessed with the Amadeus AI. Phi is unable to explain it to her, but sums it up as love at first sight. Whip then compares it to the glass shield Phi used on her, causing her to believe that Whip loves her and she accidentally fires at her allies. Whip tells her to stop, but Phi states that she feels like attacking something.
