Blue Christmas is the two hundred and seventeenth Extra Ops and the fifty-fourth Marathon introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

At a Rebel base, several soldiers are excited about their holiday plans when Abigail comes in and whips them into shape as they still have a war to contribute to. Dion walks in and asks her if she has some time. Abigail tells him to wait an hour as she "trains" the soldiers, so Dion waits outside her office, swifly avoiding all of the lasers in the process.

On the battlefield, Kelly and El Dorado are hunting the Zoni Doloma, who is somehow aware of Christmas and has appropiately set itself up for the holidays. El Dorado suspects that the Rebel Army are also hunting the Zoni Doloma for its treasure. On the Rebel side, Dion spots the desert mercenaries who are also hunting the Zoni Doloma. Abigail states that this is why she is going along and asks Dion if he should take a rest because he's pulled another all-nighter. Dion states that he will get rid of the threat without letting her notice it and runs off. Abigail sighs as he is technically correct as he has worked hard in her name by discipling loose soldiers and giving temporary leaves to those who work hard. Kelly mutters to herself as El Dorado protects the people and claims the treasure, with both of them concluding that it's like killing two birds with one stone.

In the ensuing battle, Zoni Doloma disgorges loads of treasures before retreating to tend to its injuries. Abigail spots El Dorado, but Dion comes in and tells her that the mercenaries are leaving, so they should too. In the desert, Kelly laughs at El Dorado being a golden Santa Claus, who admits that carrying the white bag wasn't a good idea. He still concludes serving as one for the people is a just cause and that the treasures he acquired will help protect the Sand Kingdom.

As the Rebel Army returns to base, several soldiers celebrate over the presents acquired from the Zoni Doloma. Dion interrupts the moment and ruins the mood by stating that they're still partaking in an operation and that no one has worked hard enough to deserve a vacation. Returning to base, Dion asks Abigail to let the soldiers celebrate as their morale is at stake. Abigail allows the party after the guards are switched, intending to join in. Dion then notices a stuffed reindeer in her possession. Abigail states that the reindeer reminds her of the gift she gave Beatriz, before Dion asks her if she should take a vacation. Abigail asks him if there's still time to apply, but he insists that no one would dare deny her as she is one of the major contributors to the war effort. As Dion excuses himself, Abigail states that he knows everything about her.
