Dark Mirror is the two hundred and sixty-first Extra Ops and the twelfth Recapture introduced in Metal Slug Attack.
Story[]
In the sect temple, Anastasia IV falls into a trance from a great power, leaving behind a note and two pendants. She wishes for Beecham to pick her own path before a shadow appears and drags her away.
In the ruins, Ramal introduces HMT and Sharifa to the newest weapon she found, the Dark Gate. Anastasia IV then stumbles into the area, with HMT noticing that she's acting off and Sharifa believing that the Dark Gate can bring humans to them. Ramal states that the weapons could be damaged and demons will come from the gate, so they decide to put Anastasia IV back in for tidiness.
Beecham eventually finds Anastasia's notes and made her way to the ruins, although worried with her master's safety. Beecham chose to work with Mira but also with Dragunov. Dragunov asks her if she wishes to be a double agent as the rebellion would get involved and in danger. Beecham tells her that Anastasia already knew of the events and Mira's inevitable betrayal and wishes to side with the rebellion. Dragunov then has her soldiers outfit Beecham's Snordon.
On the way to the ruins, Beecham is joined by Cara, who wonders where she's going. Mr. Cartman states that he anticipates a bloody battle, so Cara is delighted and had brought mercenaries to fight the enemy's forces. Cara then wonders why Beecham is ignoring them before Mr. Cartman tells her that the pendant has a white stone with pure dark energy. Beecham takes the notes back and tells the two to shut up.
Finally arriving at the ruins, they find a treasure box with dark power. Cara realizes that the pendant would be used to store the power from the box before Beecham notices that one of them is missing. The mummies spot the intruders and both sides prepare for a fight.
In the first area, Cara is excited with the dark energy coming from the gate and wishes to enter the other side. Ramal refuses to let her and prepares to fight.
In the second area, Beecham confronts HMT with both sides wishing to fight for their master's vision.
In the third area, Beecham wonders what the dark energy is when Sharifa accidentally bumps into her. Sharifa then explains that the power is the accumulation of the evil minds of humans and others put in the boxes. Sharifa claims that she has won in logic, but Beecham states that she hasn't won in strength yet, pitting her Snordon against Sharifa's golem.
As the two sides continue fighting each other and the demons pouring out of the gate, Cara takes both pendants, now filled with dark energy. Out of sheer curiosity, she decides to throw them into the gate. This causes Anastasia IV to stumble out and into Beecham, who is relieved to see her alive and well. The gate also stops spewing out demons, much to the relief of the mummies. They appear to have forgotten about Cara, with Mr. Cartman insisting that she make them thank her.
