Freedom Mission is the two hundred and thirty-ninth Extra Ops and the fifty-eighth Marathon introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

At a Ptolemaic base, Caroline is trying out hand signals with Simon. However, she messes up and Simon punishes her by firing shots near her.

Outside, the Yuki Tsuki Hana and Elena make their way inside, the former having allied with Red and his friends per Ichima's request in a previous encounter. They are soon spotted by the Ptolemaics, with Caroline ordering the newest Screamer, the Jet Screamer, into battle. Its huge soundwaves begin tormenting Keisetsu, Ouka and Tsukikage, so Kagura orders them to deal with the other enemies, knowing that she is safe in her Karakuri mech. Elena is unaffected by the soundwaves.

Elena confronts Simon, who fires shots at her, but she simply advances forward cutting them down. Realizing she is outmatched, Simon flees to look for Caroline, who is being held by Kagura. She fires a shot at the Karakuri, forcing Kagura to drop her. Simon then gestures hand signals to the remaining soldiers, who realize they are being ordered to take Caroline and flee. As the Ptolemaics scatter, Elena is upset that they didn't find answers, but Kagura tells her they can always try next time. The group decides to leave the Jet Screamer as-is, knowing there are other survivors nearby.
