Memories of Mirage is the one hundred and thirty-ninth Extra Ops and the thirty-fourth Rare Boss introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

A flashback from three years ago is replayed (similar to the start of Tropical Battles).

Returning to the present, Bersek and Fedeln Metzelei arrive on Earth to search for a core. Fedeln, knowing of Bersek's past, asks him if they should get a glimpse of her; Bersek refuses, stating that what they had in the past does not matter anymore and they should complete their mission. Bersek also brings up the idea of hoping to find a metal resistant to Fedeln's poison. He tells him about the legends of their target, a ship that could materialize at will and sunk anything that came near it. They hear steam whistling in the distance and investigate; upon seeing it, its crew disembark to attack the pair.

Bersek easily destroys the Mirage Shiee and acquires the core. Fedeln asks him again if they should visit her, as he wants to get just one glimpse of his ex-girlfriend. Bersek refuses again and hears movement in the distance, prompting him to take Fedeln and hide. Fedeln is surprised by Bersek's sudden action, since his poison will harm him.

Just moments later, Reika and Louise arrive and find the destroyed ship. Louise realizes the combat style as Bersek's, and immediately wants to find him. Reika manages to persuade her not to, as there were also signs of an Invader with him. Despite his change of allegiance, Louise is content with the fact that Bersek is alive. Elsewhere, Bersek is injured by Fedeln's poison due to being in close proximity with him, but the two manage to escape the island.
