A girl is scavenging from the remains of a battlefield. She finds a dead soldier and recovers a photo of the soldier's family; she brushes it off as an illusion. However, she has a mischievous look on her face as she looks at the mother and child in the photo.
At the present, Conny is training with Destrade, who lunges a knife at her neck. Destrade is impressed that Conny aimed for a weak spot without hesitation, but she is so strong the knife shatters upon impact. Conny is surprised and caught off-guard before Destrade lands a devastating counterattack on her. Huracan comes in, telling Destrade not to be so rough on Conny, as she's the new recruit brought in by Abigail. Despite the initial surprise, Conny refuses to admit defeat.
Elsewhere, Towa and Caroline decide to test out their new Spiral Nokana on the enemy forces. Conny manages to defeat Towa, and the two mechanics retreat, leaving their Nokana behind. Conny recognizes the used armor, and realizes that Caroline survived her bomb. Caroline is upset that Conny stole from her and requests that she give it back. Towa gets intimidated by Conny's face asks Caroline to retreat; she does so after telling Conny to stop stealing parts.
As the two leave, Conny looks at the Spiral Nokana and decides to scavenge it. Much to her surprise, the two mechanics set it to explode, and she is knocked out by the blast. Conny's hatred of others and refusal to accept defeat is shown in a flashback, where she and her mother were fleeing a battlefield and only had the money to pay for one person. Conny's mother paid the toll - but for herself; not for Conny, who subsequently grew up with the Rebel Army and had a hatred of friendship and parental bonds.
Huracan and Destrade catch up to Conny after the explosion; she had somehow survived the blast. Destrade notes that Conny is a kleptomaniac, so she decides to give her serious guidance when she wakes up. As Conny mutters more words, Huracan suggests waking her up; Destrade refuses, as she believes a member of Allen Platoon should conquer it themselves, which Huracan notes as rather brutal.
