Protection of the Fortress is the eighty-eighth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

Allen O'Neil goes on a mission with Julia to visit the Doctor again; however, Julia is quite oblivious as she constantly refers to him as her "future father-in-law".

At Amadeus headquarters, an unknown AI begs for White Baby to stop teasing her. White Baby gets bored of playing with the AI and finds several visitors and goes out to meet them. The unknown AI tells her to stop, as their father didn't let them have permission to do so.

White Baby confronts the two and is excited with the new toy Allen brought her. White Baby is soon damaged, as Allen uses his weapon to damage her core. The AI reveals itself to be the Iron Fortress and vows to protect White Baby, recalling a memory that it had with its father, the Doctor, who told her to protect those she cared for.

Allen is impressed with the Iron Fortress' strength and commends her for it. Knowing that he is outmatched, he and Julia retreat. As they leave, White Baby admits to the Iron Fortress that she never thought she'd be protected by her, and the Iron Fortress replies that it will protect her. White Baby goes to sleep, tired from the battle, so the Iron Fortress returns to headquarters with her to have the Doctor wake up White Baby.
