Task Force 14th is the two hundred and fortieth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.
Story[]
At the Regular Army base, Marco briefs Rita and newest recruit Karen on their upcoming mission to destroy a convoy of Jupiter Tanks that have been just pumped out from the enemy factory. Karen is upset at the thought of working with Rita. Marco tells Rita that she can go wild on the mission, much to her delight, while ordering Karen to support her from the back.
Elsewhere, Allen Jr. belittles Chloe for the slow speed of the convoy. Chloe defends herself, stating that she isn't behind yet. Allen Jr. then notices an enemy flare and goes off to fight the enemy with some of the tanks, much to Chloe's disdain.
Karen asks Rita why she launched a flare when they are in the open. Midori supports Karen's question, since she saw no purpose in doing so. She then tells Karen that the Slug Sniper is fully operational. Karen thanks Midori and urges her to evacuate to the supply point, before Rita tells her that she launched the flare to lure the enemies to her, seeing that it would be better than her going to them. She tells her not to disappoint him and heads off to fight, much to her disdain. Karen then notices Midori hasn't left and urges her to leave. She then ponders why the Regular Army hasn't had much discipline since she joined, but quietly has a burning will to fight.
Karen faces off against Chloe, who launches a powerful attack at her. Karen swiftly dodges the attack and counterattacks with her own. She wonders why she, as a new recruit, has been placed into immense danger. Nonetheless, she knows she cannot disobey orders from her superior and her freedom is limited to the Slug Sniper itself.
In the other area, Rita has destroyed twelve Jupiter Tanks by herself. A Rebel soldier asks Allen Jr. to inform Chloe of the situation. Rita continues fighting on instinct, luring the Rebel Army to a waiting Avvio and Roberto Nicola. Allen Jr. goes off to fight Rita. Chloe soon learns of the situation and orders the convoy to retreat back to the factory as they have taken too many losses.
With the battle concluded, Rita thanks Karen for the assistance. Karen is upset that Rita used her as bait, before Tarma tries to flatter her skills in battle. Karen calls Tarma out on his flattery, before Midori commends her for her skill with the Slug Sniper, as they are difficult to handle. Avvio asks her out for a date. Karen asks Midori if she is trying to reassure her despite being younger while promptly ignoring Avvio. Karen then notes that Rita's diversion, albeit unorthodox and reckless, served her well before she leaves. Rita asks her where she is going, but Tarma states that Karen is the type of person who starts blushing and runs away when praised.
