Try Line 1st is the ninety-eighth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story[]

The Regular Army liberates a town from the Rebel Army in their global war. Far away from the town, several are concerned with their presence.

HMT addresses a Mummy Warrior if he has taken care of the intruder, which he affirms by howling. HMT notes that there have been an unnaturally large amount of intruders this month, and wonders if the people forgot their covenant with the Pharaoh. The Mummy Warrior howls again, and HMT agrees with him, stating that they aren't coming to the Sanctuary of God because their lives are short, but they still deserve to be punished. She decides that they need to fight back against the invaders and uses her staff to cast a spell.

HMT summons Arsinoe, who is annoyed that she was summoned on such a short notice. The Mummy Warrior asks her to help assist in taking out the humans, which she refuses to. HMT tells Arsinoe that Cleopatra would be disappointed if she slacks off, to which she reluctantly does the job as long as she gets some rewards for her work, which HMT promises. She informs her of their enemy's strength, so Arsinoe and the Mummy Warrior depart to fight the enemy, much to HMT's annoyance as she hadn't finished speaking yet.

The pair encounter the Ball Slug and barely manage to defeat it. This causes the Regular Army to retreat. They eventually return to the ruins, where Arsinoe is delighted with all the "Try Coins" she obtained. HMT then tells her that the coins will disappear, much to Arsinoe's shock. HMT tells her that she was going to inform her about it, but she ran off before she finished her conversation.

Arsinoe panics and has the Mummy Warrior with half of the coins, and the two run off to the Try Line shop before it closes.

Stages[]

The stages leading up to the final boss are all the same. Each difficulty also determines the strength of the boss, their supporting units, and how they are deployed; for example, stage 25 on Easy starts off with Special Tarma, while Hell starts off with Special Fio.

All coin amounts are based on 50 sorties; for every 10 added/removed, add/remove 20% of the coin gained respectively. Victory points are unaffected by sortie usage.
