Try Line 20th is the two hundred and twenty-fourth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story[]

The Regular Army returns with a special stone from one of their missions. It is given to Midori for research, who is puzzled at how it works. As she is engrossed in her work, she decides to take a nap when she hears voices.

Two mysterious people teleport into the lab; Marionette and a mysterious robed figure. Marionette scolds the robed figure for using her on a whim, demanding compensation in return. The robed figure tells her to stop being rude and introduces itself to Midori as Unsigned, a former wandering Earthling. It also introduces its Bonenoid army to it and takes the stone from her, telling her that defeat is simply a way to grow as the two leave.

Midori refuses to let them take the stone however, and tracks Marionette to another area. Marionette is surprised at how easily she was tracked, while Unsigned notes that she is like a researcher; young, talented and stubborn. Seeing that its Bonenoid army has taken an interest in the young mechanic, it orders Marionette to not kill her. Marionette is annoyed once more and demands extra compensation for doing so.

The two defeat Midori's mech with ease. Marionette comments on how humans are a stupid race due to their curiosity, which Unsigned notes as her mocking her creator. She states that the Professor is an idiot for his curiosity, but by knowing his flaws, she can protect him to the fullest of her abilities. Midori believes they will kill her, but Unsigned reveals that the stone it took belongs to an old friend of his, and it is simply taking it back; it did not intend to fight. Impressed with her resolve, Unsigned shows her a fraction of its power before the two leave.

Midori wakes up at base once more and finds Tarma waiting for her. Tarma reveals that she has been out for almost a week. She asks him where the stone is, who tells him that it was not with her, but reassures her that it'll find its way back to her eventually. Midori then realizes that the encounter with the two wasn't a dream.
