Ugly Friend is the two hundred and forty-fourth Extra Ops and the fifty-sixth Rare Boss introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

Out in the wilderness, the Regular Army is attempting to recapture one of their Elephant Slugs which they believed to be tamed, only for it to suddenly go on a rampage. Roberto Nicola and Avvio are taking part in the operation when Avvio is suddenly blown away by what appears to be a young girl. The girl introduces herself as Ai Agate before her partner, Citrine, comes in. Agate is captivated by the elephant and believes that the Regular Army is trying to bully it, but is proud to state that Citrine is the number one creature in the universe.

Roberto does not appear to be alarmed by the Invader, instead asking how it is number one when Citrine is weird and slimy. Agate then notices that Citrine is uneasy, before Citrine suddenly grabs her hand and warps away. Schwarz then enters the scene, expressing an intent to eat Citrine. Agate states that Citrine is off-limits and asks Schwarz if she had eaten everything where she was sent. Schwarz claims that the Pentagram abducted her to an obsolete system where the food was terrible, causing Robert to realize that Agate is an Invader. Schwarz then notices the elephant and tries to eat it, but Agate protects the elephant with her body, stating that it is also off-limits. Agate states that Schwarz could eat the humans instead as they aren't "ranked" in her book, so Schwarz throws herself at the Regular Army for another "bad" meal.

Schwarz becomes enraged that the humans are fleeing from her, with Roberto leading the soldiers to safety. A short time later, Agate scolds Schwarz for trying to attack Citrine and the elephant. Schwarz states that she must be one of them, but before she could attack, Agate states that she is part of the Research Unit to investigate the planet's life. She deduces that Schwarz must have been full before her arrival and is angered that she called Citrine nasty. Schwarz, realizing she had angered Agate, leaves Earth.

Agate then goes to Roberto and asks him if he is good friends with the elephant. After Roberto claims he is, she is relieved that they weren't bullying it. She then asks Citrine whether it would like to go to the mountains or sea and the pair leave. With the three Invaders gone, the elephant appears to have calmed down, but then inexplicably squeals. Roberto tries to calm it down, but the elephant unleashes a blast of wind that sends Roberto flying, causing the Regular Army to search for him and Avvio for the next four days.
