United Front the 40th is the two hundred and sixty-sixth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

At a Rebel Army base, the soldiers deploy a Golden Hodumi and Golden Patrol Robots to accompany it. Elsewhere, Jane Doe amasses a large pile of zombie parts to be used in battle, as she hopes to turn both friend and foe alike into zombies.

At the jungle, Elena catches up to Licht, who is exhausted from crossing dimensions with the Multiverse Blade. Jin soon arrives and informs the two that a United Front operation has started in the area. Elena suggests avoiding the Rebel Army due to Licht's state. As the two head out, Jin decides to buy a tank for sword practice if they can accumulate enough coins. The trio arrive on the battlefield where they spot Jane frolicing around. Jane spots them and becomes enamored with Licht's muscles. Elena teases Licht while he remarks on having to use his legendary sword on what appears to be an unassuming enemy.

During the battle, Licht cuts down a zombie, only for Jane to revive it with her medical abilities. Alongside Jin and Elena, they try to leave but Jane summons more zombies to chase after them until they begin to inexplicably collapse. Maki, having found the trio in trouble, had burned poisonous herbs to destroy the zombies' organs and the four escape.

The four then arrive at the United Shop; Licht finds it odd that no ones around but browses a list. Elena is interested in the Golden Hodumi but decides against it as while it's sturdy, it would attract unnecessary attention with its gold plating. Licht decides to buy it for Jin for training. As Licht tries to trade with what he believes is a shopkeeper, he is shocked to find a zombie who grabs his arm. Jin slices the zombie's arm off as Jane arrives, having let them go ahead and modified the zombies to be resistant to Maki's poison. When Jane compliments Jin, Licht believes her to be one of the crazy zombies. Jin tells him to shake such thoughts off as they hurry to the shop before the other soldiers could arrive. However, they are too late and the people that arrive to trade turn into zombies, causing a ruckus and the shop's security to be tighter in the future.
